About Avalanche Friesians

 My name is Hope and I am the Lady of Avalanche. I had dreamed of a big black Friesian since I read about them in a Romance Novel and then saw one. Friesians are beautiful Majestic Creatures that have come to life. Not many places on Earth could you find something as regal and Impressive then the flying feathers, flowing mane and Gentle eye of a Friesian. They are Baroque beings, when their hooves hit the ground you can feel and hear the sounds of an Avalanche.

  I've been to two Equine Affairs out in Pomona, CA and have attended several clinics on Starting young Horses. I've Attended Three Keuring's and at all three my Horses have received First Premi for my foal or Ster in the older Horses! I've also Attended one Stallion Show in the Netherlands and a couple years later Attended the Mare Show as well. I took a short course in Equine Reproduction and do AI and Collection of my Stallion Hedzer. I also took an ultraSound course to help me detect Ovulation so I can Inseminate at the right time, all with the help of my Husband. It has been much fun and Educational for me. I start all my foals with Imprinting and they are handled every day while with us. I use a lot of Techniques from Clinton Anderson or use whatever works best for that particular horse. I've had several Trainers help me along the way who were Certified John Lyons trainers. I've Started and Backed three of my own Horses so far and will be working on Trick Horse Training with my Stallion Hedzer in 2009.  By the time our foals leave, they are very people friendly and can lead, load and pick up feet.. I am still Learning and hope to be able to finish a Horse in the Art of Dressage one day.  

  I didn't always have Horses in my life. When I was a young girl I played Football. Then later I got into Powerlifting then for a very short skit bodybuilding. I will post some of the accomplishments I've made, Records I broke (at that time) and photo's from those days. Seems like a lifetime ago and I guess it was. Another me formed somewhere along the way in this journey we call life. Now my life I surround myself with my Children, Husband, Animals and my Mom. We never know when our beloved Parents will slip away so cherish them while they are here and forget about the rest. My Father died when I was 18 of a Malignant Brain Tumor. The Photo to the left is my family and I'm the little girl sitting on Mom's lap. My Father was in the Military so I grew up moving around about every 3 years.

  I Recently had two wonderful Children. A little girl in 2007 and a boy in 2008. I am a part time photographer and specialize in Boudior, Glamour but do Animals and Families as well. You can see some of my work at Hope Parr.
